Jessica Ripp | Ripptide Art

brief
Jessica Ripp is a multi-media artist from Nebraska, now residing on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. As a child, her mother instilled a love of art and it's history, both through her own teachings and by example, she is also an artist and photographer. Jess has found inspiration from many things throughout her life, especially animals, people, and the ocean.
She uses a range of mediums to create her designs and creations, specializing in a variety of fine arts. Graphite and acrylic paint are her mediums of choice, but most recently she has been exploring spray paint/air brushing, Posca paint pens, and oil painting. She is leaning more into surf culture and surfboard design, both as décor and rideable art. Portrait drawings are a passion of hers.
Oahu and the surrounding Hawaiian islands have been an incredible inspiration and muse to her recent work. She has always been drawn to sea life, the water, and mermaid tales from the deep. Connecting with nature is an integral part of her design process, and many ideas and creations come from walking the forests around her home.
Jessica is known for being a "Jack of all trades"... or a Jess of all trades, rather. She has acquired a vast number of random, but impressive skills throughout her life and strives to bring them all together when putting her visions into motion. Sewing, baking, photography, lei making, floral arranging, shoot assisting, hair and makeup artistry, gardening, traveling and diving are a few other things that get her heart pumping.
